i've heard this is considered to be anime, not only here on imdb, but on other sites on the web. probably a stupid question seeing as anime is japanese, and this is spanish; but is it?

I wouldn't say it is anime... but I think some people refer to foreign animation as "anime", since it is so popular nowadays...though it isn't really correct. :)

I think the reason this was trumped as anime was because the English voice cast was supplied by Sync, Ltd. which is the same cast of voices that dubbed the SANRIO anime films "Legend of Sirius/Sea Prince and the Fire Child", "Unico", "Bell of Chirin/Ringing Bell".

it's not anime, it's a coproduction Mexico-Spain (to be anime should be japanese)
