So Daniel Macchio was 22 in this????

So according to this site, he was born November 1961 and this movie came out in 1984.

There's no way he couldn't been in his 20s in this movie. His voice sounded like he hasn't gone through puberty yet. He looks and sounds 14 or 15 at most.

He’s always had that pudgy, boyish face that looks super young. As for his voice in the movie...well, prior to filming he had to practice that crane move a lot, and let’s just say he didn’t always stick the landing on that pier post.

LULZ!!!

reply

He still sounds pretty much the same.

Why not? Most child stars are older than the characters they play, and for big movie franchises, it can't be helped. I mean, look at Harry Potter: they started off about the right ages for their characters, but by the last movie, they were at least 3-4 years older than they should've been!

Hey, wormwood (good screen name because you act like poison)If you could actually comprehend what you read, you would've noticed that his name is RALPH Macchio. Daniel was his character's name. And he was 23 when this movie came out.

When I hear Wormwood, I think of the mythical star that heralds the doom of humanity. Or Calvin's teacher.

The words wormwood and woodworm remind me of something I read a long time go.

During World War 2, there was a lot of spying going on by both sides. The Allies came up with a plan to reveal German spies.

A password in use was "wormwood " and the reply "woodworm". They figured that it would reveal a native German speaker even if he spoke English.

I had a German boyfriend at the time and he spoke English quite well. I asked him to say those two words.

He said "vormvood" and "voodvorm". Made sense to me why they picked those words.

reply

I once met some of my stepmother's childhood friends and they spoke American English so well, I had no idea they were foreign. Then I heard one of them say "vodka" (wodka) and it was a dead giveaway.

reply

He's babyfaced. Look how well he's aged, still looks around 35-40.

reply

It's amazing he's four years older than Zabka, yet looked four years younger back then and twenty years younger now.

reply

It's his genes. Some people just don't age.

What's really funny to me is Macchio was also older than Thomas Ian Griffith who played Terry Silver in Part 3.

In Hollywood, appearances can be very deceiving.
