Why Are Freddy and Friends in Daniel's Corner at The End?

Never noticed this. These so called friends dropped him like a bad habit?

They were fair weathered friends for sure. Honestly, other than Ali, the whole school seemed to avoid Daniel after his beatdown from Johnny. Even Ali's friends took a strong dislike against him.

I think Freddy was just being a kid. I did similar stuff growing up, bad as that is. Not wanting to be the guy who associated with 'the loser.'

Plus, we're never shown that Freddy outright avoided Daniel. He lived right next door. Terrible friend sure, but he probably cared enough to at least show up and root for him.

I gotta watch this again because everytime I see it, I always get confused as to what happened with the neighbor kid from the beginning and how he just vanished from the rest of the film.

When there's no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.

I was surprised to see Susie and that blonde chick on Daniel's court too. You can even hear them cheering for Daniel during the final fight scene.

Yeah probably guilt and wanting to show support. Ali still dudnt like Johnny and I net the others didn't either.

They were never that fond of Daniel. And on Daniel's first date with Ali, you can see the other two girls still hanging out in Johnny's car with the Cobra Kais.

It would have been a little pathetic and less triumphant if the only people celebrating were Daniel, an old man, and a girl covered in 4 sweaters.

This is something I always found irritating. But let’s face it, why wouldn’t they be there cheering Daniel on? As wrong as it was, it’s no surprise mostly everyone in school preferred not to be associated with the kid who got humiliated. And it’s not like they, well at least Freddy, were later shown to treat with complete contempt. If I want to be generous, what might’ve factored into them choosing to distance themselves from Daniel, is wanting to avoid being in the “almighty” Cobra Kai’s bad side (for Ali’s friends it definitely was a social thing).

Anyway, it’s likely they - even Ali’s uptight friends - disliked Daniel’s opponent as much as the next person. So somewhere down the line they realized Daniel was a righteous dude who stood up to the big bully nearly everyone hated. They suck either way, but cheering on Daniel-San probably made them feel good about themselves.
