Is there another movie series including Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom?

Is there a series of movies which includes Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) besides the othr indiana Jones movies? Possibly. At least any movie fan could assemble a series of films to watch along with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984).

Kali, the Hindu Goddess of Death, among other things, is worshipped by many Hindu cults, But Kali's most famous group of worshippers were the Thugs, members of the Thuggee cult who allegedly murdered travelers in India.

In the 1830s, William Henry Sleeman was in charage of detecting and destroying the Thuggee cult. Many Thugs were arrested, convicted, and executed or imprisoned. Some modern historians claim that the Thuggee cult was imaginary and most of the Thugs were innocent.

The Thugs lasted much longer in populaar cutlure than in real history.

The Stranglers of Bombay (1959) and The Deceivers (1988) are films depicting the Britsh supression of the Thugs in the early 19th century, vaguely similar to the historical events.

But the Thugs later revived according to other movies.

In Gunga Din (1939), set in the 1890s, the revived Thugs form an army and hope to defeat the British and take over India, but they are defeated.

In Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), set in the 1930s, the Thugs have revived, taken over the Kingdom of Pankot in India, and plot to take over all India and maybe the whole world and abolish all other religions. It is also mentioned that the Thugs were active at Pankot during the Indian Mutiny of 1857-58.

In Help! (1965), set in the 1960s, the Beatles get involved with a dangerous eastern cult similar to the Thugs.

So a movie fan could assemble copies of several movies about the Thugs, including Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), and watch them in fictional chronological order.

Octopussy has some incredibly similar Indian scenes to Temple of Doom.

However James Bond does get a tiger to sit, which I don't think Indy manages.

I don't remember much about similarites between Octapussy and Temple of Doom.

What I mostly remember is a scene with the Taj Mahal in the foreground and Bond's airliner landing in the background. Thus that scene is in Agra.

Bond gets a taxi at the airport and after riding a few minutes they are in Udaipur.

The distance between Agra and Udaipur by air is 517 kilometers, and by road it is 656 kilometers taking about 11 hours. Centuries ago a trip between the two places took many times as long, and yet the distance might have seem too close in times of war between the Maharanas and the Mughal Padishahs.
