In the dubbed english version he says 'Quite a knife there.'

reply

Dubbed? The movie should be seen undubbed. The great thing with the movie is that they speak Icelandic.

In the daytime it sure looks different,
but at night it's just a rock'n'roll beat

Men du förstod allting alldeles utmärkt. Eller:

Yes, that was exactly what I wrote.

That's a very poor translation then. It should specifically be "heavy knife", so that it fits with the later scene where he says it again as the man with the heavy knife is wounded in the arm and too weak to pick it up. That harsh humor and sarcasm is what makes it so memorable.

reply

Þúngur Hnífur.....de svenska er syndsig man.

reply

Both the dubbed version and the original are on the dvd I got. The dubbed Gest speaks english in a stage irish accent.

reply

So...

Where to get this movie (original ofc) on DVD?

Oh, and the soundtrack would be great too! :D

reply

The film has to be seen, the music is excellent and you can not avoid saying tungur nifur to any random icelandic you meet. We love you for this film....
