Any gay scenes?
Were there any gay scenes in this movie? If so, can you describe them?
shareJodie Foster's character (Frannie) has a lesbian relationship with Susie the Bear, but there are no scenes showing their physical relationship. It's implied more than shown. The relationship is delineated much more clearly in the book.

Wasn't that Susie the Bear?

"In the DVD version, they show Jodie & Susie the Bear, aka Nastassja Kinski, in bed [head shots], caressing each other, and then, a really passionate kiss!! But, they fade-out way too soon!"
Actually that scene was in the theatrical version too. It was somewhat darkened but it was pretty clear it was those two and they do kiss. I don't think it was THAT passionate though:) That's about as close as this movie gets to a sex scene. Jodie Foster in an interview and the time that the director wanted her to do a nude scene when she goes to bed with her brother (Rob Lowe). Lowe said he would do a nude scene but she refused. The director yelled at her that she wasn't really an actress till she did a nude scene (???) She yelled back, "Fine! Then I'm NOT an actress!". But she got her way.

She has never done a nude scene. Even in "The Accused" where she is gang raped she manages to keep her chest covered! In an early film "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane" there is a brief nude scene but it was done by her sister. She said she sees no need for nude scenes.
Did she wear a shirt to bed in "Hotel"? It was done fast motion and mostly concentrated on Lowe. I remember her in the bed and I thought the sheet covered her from the neck on down.
Wrong. Jodie does a full frontal nude scene in "Backtrack" with Dennis Hopper.
We'll see whose the filthiest person alive! We'll just see!
Really? I never saw the movie. I'm surprised. It must have come out after "The Accused" because she refused to go topless in that even while her character was being raped!

Not wanting to do the rape scene nude I can see, but the nude incest scene was played for laughs (more or less). I know Rob Lowe had no problems with the nudity--only her. Or Foster could just be modest. Who knows? I think I'd have trouble doing a nude scene myself--LOL
shareI thought the whole movie was gay.

jodie foster appears pretty naked in "nell" i think - i saw someone asking about that some posts ago...
shareYou must have seen a TV cut of "The Accused," because you most certainly do see her breasts in the rape scene. I have the DVD and have watched the film several times, and it was also there when I saw it in the theater. One of the guys pulls her top down for a moment when he throws her down and you see them.
shareI saw it in a theatre. You're right--there WAS a flash of her breasts--but they probably weren't Jodie Fosters. I read an interview in (I believe) Entertainment Weekly I found online and she STILL says she didn't show her breasts! So--it had to have been a double. Really--why would she lie about it so many years after the fact?
shareNot a double, she's shown full body. There are even screen caps on Google if you don't have the DVD to see for yourself. Just go to Google...Images...make sure your "Safe Search" is set to "off" and type in "Jodie Foster Nude The Accused."
But again, if you have the DVD, put it in and watch the scene. She's shown full body on the pinball machine when it happens. And she's also been topless in other movies ("Nell", "Backtrack"). There are also screen shots of those on Google.
Well I was too horrified by the rape to pause and see what was happening. OK--I guess you're right. Can't understand why Foster keeps saying she never did them.
shareJust the lesbian scenes with Jodie Foster's charactor, as described by others. And if the comment about Mathew Modine's character getting a rear delivery was serious, I don't remember. But I do remember the long crotch shot of Rob Lowe while he's doing weight lifts in a gym; it was enough to get me hot & bothered.
shareIt's a little more graphic in the book, which ought to titillate your fancy.
shareThe book is pretty clear about their sexual relationship, much to the shock of the main character and the way it is described, a little shocking to all of us.
