Hot Doggers was the early 80s term for free-style skiers. Hence, Hot Dog The Movie.

Doing tricks on skis (flips, jump-splits, spins) was originally called hot dog skiing. I worked at a ski resort back in the late 70's-early eighties.

It is a subliminal reference to ones Schlong.

You've got to remember, this came out at around the same time as Joysticks. And we all know what that was a reference too.

Another term for a 'Hot Shot'. A showoff.

It could also be an oxymoron. How can a woman be hot and a dog at the same time?
