25th Anniversary Screening At The New Beverly Los Angeles

The New Beverly Cinema revival theater in Los Angeles just announced they're playing Heavenly Bodies on a double bill with the T&A comedy Hardbodies for one show only on June 8, 2009! I was lucky enough to see Heavenly Bodies last year at the Bev and hope that it becomes an annual event!

I was at the NuArt last year, at the september midnight screening. Too bad we were only 60-ish people, but it was worth it. The movie is excrutiatingly bad, but it's a lot of fun and, if I remember well, the dolby stereo audio track was kinda good. The final aerobic contest is absolutely incredible, an amazing piece of cinematography and acting.
OK, I make fun of the movie. But it's actually a real time capsule, of what the 80's were able to produce (this and Girls just want to have fun, too)
Weird enough, it's a Bob lantos production (producer of the recent Atom Egoyan & David Cronenberg's outings) and that bthe bad guy is the Incredible Puma-Man himself.
Bad, but a so-bad-it's-good feeling that makes it highly watchable with friends!

you suck, how can you put this movie down at all? why did you say it's excrutiatingly bad? it's not bad at all. it's high quality and professionally made in every single way. the direction, pacing, music, story, characters, dancing, choreography, inspiring way of telling the story, acting, everything is perfect and really high quality. it's not a classic but it's a great film and it is always extremely entertaining and rousing which is more than i can say for half the stupid Hollywood movies that come out in theaters every year.

I sure wish I had caught that. I rarely, if ever, go to movie theaters anymore. It's not just that most movies made today are not to my liking, but the audiences are so rude and inconsiderate. But, to see two eighties b-movies on the large screen again, is a whole other matter!

funny because you can almost put this film in the T and A category also. I mean we get not one set, not two sets, but three sets of boobs in this film. so priceless. this film captures all the energy, excitement, inspirational feelings, moods, emotions, characters, music, dancing, and story that is in most '80s movies and this film delivers everything in the most professional and quality ways.

this film is a winner. it's so animated and lively and the main girl Samantha is one of the most lovable, effervescent, classy, sweet and inspiring characters in movies history.

you are so lucky in live close to Los Angeles man. I would love to watch this film in a theater.

also, it's so funny how you say they are playing both this film and Hardbodies together because last night when I first saw it listed on my tv guide I thought it was hardbodies. they have such similar names. I love how this film was made by Playboy. I never knew that playboy made legitimate movies.
