I'm pretty sure this movie is out of print... or is it? Anyone know where I can get a copy of it? We had it on VHS but the quality has deminished. =( I loved this movie!

This is what happens when a movie's distribution is blocked at high levels: A region 2 dvd in Japanese with NO English subtitles is available online for about $48. Trashpalace.com sells a dvd in Japanese with English subtitles that looks like it was copied from the edited version that played on Bravo channel in the eighties. The print is scratchy and the subtitles are hard to read at times. The movie and English subtitles are also separately available on torrent websites, but that would be WRONG. bc

I first saw this movie when it came out in the UK and have been trying to see it again since. I'm glad to see it still has an appreciative audience. And I may have to go pirate to show friends what I've been talking about. If there were a high-quality DVD with English subtitles I'd gladly buy a copy.
shareI have the trashpalace.com dvd, and it is as previously described. Best way to watch this is buy a region 2 dvd from a japanese or aussie website, checking to see if there are subtitles. If not, download them from torrent. And make sure you have a region free or region 2 dvd player. PS another good Japanese movie about a wacky family is Happiness of the Katakuris.
