Technical goof?? Snow and grimlins?

Well snow is frozen water... If the gremlins came into contact with snow and it melted a little wouldn't they ge multiplying all the time?

reply

What about dense fog? Humidity approaching 100-percent?

I couldn't believe when I read his filmography that he played a toilet (no joke) in According to Jim

In the original script it was only warm water that caused the multiplying. That was why Stripe jumped into a heated swimming pool (and later a heated fountain in a store) rather than a pond or something. Although that was never mentioned in the final film film. The water Gizmo fist comes in contact with was right under a hot light bulb.

End of line

Cool thanks for the info, I never knew that. :)

They have heated fountains in stores? why?

reply

Okay then do moguais and gremlins not urinate? Wouldn't they multiply if/when they get a drop of their own pee on themselves? Pee is warm.

reply

I don't think so. The dad says at the beginning not to give them any water to drink. If they don't drink water, they don't urinate. It sounds illogical, but it seems there is a real life example of a mammal that doesn't need water to survive. It's called a kagaroo rat.
