Otherwise, he would have been a great choice for the Potter films.
He would...although he wasn't a trained actor by trade.
He was a very famous wrestler in the UK at the time. (Giant Haystacks) I spent many a happy Saturday afternoon watching him wrestle on TV!
Giant Haystacks alas is no loner with us and I doubt he would had been suitable to play Hagrid.

Granted I've seen a few of the films and never read the Potter books.
I figure he definitely had the size and stature....

Didn't know he was a wrestler in the UK. Although I doubt here in the states I could have seen any of his stuff at that time. I suppose now I could search for it.
In 1996 he did wrestle in WCW in the U.S. under the ring name Loch Ness. He feuded with Hulk Hogan.
However it was a short lived venture. He was diagnosed with cancer and returned to the UK the same year I think.
