Just out of curiosity, when was this originally shown in theaters? I am sure it was filmed in 1982, as the DVD says Copyright 1982 on it, but was it released to theaters then? I read somewhere it was released on video in 1984..anyone know the exact details, thanks

Filmed in 1982 in East Orange New Jersey College Campus. The film received distribution and was officially released two years {1984} after filming was completed .

It was shown in the southeastern U.S. from Dec. 1982 til May 1983 as "The Scaremaker", mostly in Florida. The earliest opening I believe was on Dec. 3, 1982 in Jackson, Tennessee.

As "Girls Nite Out" it premiered on Aug. 12, 1983 in Tuscon, Arizona and played multiple regions, mostly in the eastern U.S. and finished its run in New York in Feb. 1985. One last gasp in 1986: it was dusted off by a single Dade City, Florida drive-in for a 5-day run paired with "Ruthless People", Nov. 21-25.
