The Tagore story, in which this story is based, is told in first person from Bimla's, Nikhil's and Sandip's respective singular point of views.

I recently purchased the Eagle DVD of this movie & it has English captions. Unfortunately they are very bad - the translator was obviously an Indian who doesn't speak English and had to rely on an Indian-English dictionary resulting in difficult dialog to understand. This movie appears to be much wordier than Ray's earlier, popular ones.
