I recorded this movie and watched it but the recording stopped just after Gilbert had been in to see his mother, and she was telling him about what Garbo said to her.
So what happens after that? Does Anne Bancroft's character die? Does Gilbert end up with Jane (played by Catherine Hicks)?
If my memory serves me, Ron Silvers character gets the nerve to go up to Garbo in the park and explains the story of his mother. Garbo goes to the hospital and in to Anne Bancroft's hospital room. There, Ms. Bancroft's character starts talking to Garbo and tell's her stories of the past. Garbo is polite and just listens. And never speaks a word! It's perfect! :)

Ann tells gilbert of their wonderful conversation, they have the same shoe size, they both like cold chidken & Ann dies a happy women. time passes & Gilbert is with Catherine Hiks in Central Park. Catherine Hicks says "OMG It's Greta Garbo!" the mysterious lady walks up to them and murmurs in her deep husky voice "Good afternoon Gilbert". So Totally Cool. Gilbret has found his Camille. Will definitely look for this on Netflix.
shareOMG....just see it. Anne Bancroft's BRILLIANT soliloquy is worth watching the entire little fulm. It's beautiful, and Miss Bancroft is beyond sublime.
She's probably my favorite actress...she is, in the end, along with Katharine Hepburn, my favorite actress.
Anyway, I hope by the time you have read this message, you have long ago seen the film in its entirety.
