Awful movie

After all these years, I've finally seen this movie. Good lord, it's dreadful. The script is lame, the direction is flat and unfunny, the score is hopelessly dated, and the premise was nonsense even then -- four years after the shooting of John Lennon, this movie makes a joke of star-stalking. Lumet had totally lost it by this point.

The way it was filmed, the score and the whole storyline seemed more like a made for TV movie on the Hallmark Channel. I also agree about the star stalking part, Garbo was always a private person and she left Hollywood for a reason.

You have no taste in film.

*EDIT*
This is, in fact, an excellent film about an older woman with old fashioned values, who wants to talk with someone she idolizes and thinks of as a role model and peer.

She forgets that she herself has value and values, but she feels a need for validation, and cannot get that from family or friends. She wants someone she admires to do that for her.

You failed to grasp this, even on a gut level ... apparently.

I'm with you. I have a particular dislike for this film and it still stands as one of the worst, most ickily contrived films in the bad film pantheon.

I found it to be a wonderful movie
