The best Freida movie

If you have not seen this movie... you MUST!

How many Frida movies are there?

It's better than Julie Taymor's film, although I liked and enjoyed the latter. This film is more authentic and makes better use of Frida's paintings. Then again according to one reviewer the film makers had greater access to Froda's paintings and even used her house.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.

Gotta disagree. Frida with Salma Hayek was WAY better to me. Salma IS an authority on the life of Frida Kahlo. This was just disjointed vignettes that unless you have any real knowledge of her life, it doesn't make much sense. Also Diego looked and behaved more accurately in her movie :)

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Yeah but also if you know about her life prior to the Salma Hayek movie, it is VERY disappointing.

I guess my biggest disappointment overall is the interpretation of Salma Hayek.
While she did not do a terrible job, I personally did not imagine Frida the way she did it at all
and Ofelia Medina's interpretation was excellent.
While Hayek's version spoon feeds the audience with a visual feast and more facts about the life
of Kahlo that are very interesting, this version obviously requires not only patience but
prior knowledge about her life in order to fully understand what is happening.
As I said before, Hayek's version is not bad, in fact it does contain things about her life that this movie
didn't. However, speaking for myself I don't think that it makes the viewer feel the true essence of Kahlo.
