Does anyone agree with me that Sofia Coppola's acting is really phony in this movie? I always cringe so much when it gets to her parts in the movie. And another thing, she has brown eyebrows and blonde hair? Whose leg was the make-up department trying to pull with that wig?
I have met quite a lot of blonde people with brown eyes (living in iceland), but she has brown hair (see the godfather part III) and yes, she can't act for didly'squat (see the godfather part III). I enjoyed the Virgin Suicides though.
Actually, Sofia Coppola was 13 when this movie came out in '84. And with a director as a dad, one would think she could act at least somewhat convincingly at 13.
i would assume if your dad is a genius director, his directing talent would ware off on you (which it has), not acting ability. that seems a bit crazy.
It's been said that, 'A director should be an actor first, so they understand both sides of the camera.' Also, a director is a form of teacher in some ways. In her case, 'Those who can do and those who can't teach' applies.
Just to put something out there, having different color eyebrows is not all that uncommon. That's like saying someone who has blond hair having black eyelashes is fake. Totally different genes for eyebrow, eyelash, and hair color.
Also, just because you have a director as a dad does not neccessarily mean you should be an amazing actor. My dad is a commander in the navy, but does that mean I should be a good sailor? Didn't think so.
