Spending the loot

Pretty good story and fine acting. This movie leaves me with one question though.

How would you go about spending the money safely? You say it is not marked and it is genuine, but that does not really matter, because the currency is over 20 years old. No matter where you spend the money, it would be like putting up giant red flag for anyone looking for you. Governmental authorities can easily track and look for old currency.

So if you were Logan, what would you do about the old currency?

reply

Well Logan ended up going to Mexico, and in the 80's I think it would have been easier to disappear there than the US. As for tracking down the bills, I imagine it would be harder to do in Mexico, because they would have to deal with the government of Mexico, and the banks and the stores and the people, which would leave a trail that is harder to follow, than doing the same thing in the US, at least back then without the computers we have today. Well, that's my guess anyway.

Or he could change all money into pesos before the heat really came down on him. Then if he ever did come back to the US he could change whatever he had left back into dollars at a different bank. Though that would still attract a lot of attention.

When Logan was in Mexico he could deposit the money with several different banks. This would reduce (though probably not eradicate) the risk of drawing unwanted attention.

If/when he changed the money back into dollars he would receive modern currency.

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!
