Peter weller attacking Corey?

Does anyone know what this was about? Says that he threw him against the wall, there must have been a reason for this?

reply

Because he attacked him with a baseball bat.

I don't know for sure, but I imagine that Weller was so totally focused on being the character he played, and staying in character, that when Haim snapped him out of that mindframe, it totally annoyed him.

reply

Talk about staying in character, abusive step dad, abusive actor. lol A little strange, but not being actor, I guess I could see how it could happen. I wonder if he apologized? Maybe he did it too so Cory would be a little timid being around him and help his character? lol I don't know ...

"Corey Haim's first day of shooting was with Peter Weller, and he went up to compliment the older actor on his performance. Weller collared Haim, throwing him up against a wall to warn him not to speak to him after a take, and it took three assistants to separate them. Haim later admitted that he was terrified by the experience."

HE WAS A KID, WELLER.

reply

Wow, what a loser.

Terrible thing to do to a kid,

Was Peter Weller know to do this on set in other films? Where is this information? I wonder what the other actors thought of this?

Wow, Peter Weller really was that much an a@@hole? Ugh.

Yeah, I read that bit of trivia and came here looking for details. Haim would've been 12 or 13 at the time. If it went down as noted, Weller should have been fired. That would have been inexcusable, to literally attack a child, regardless of the reason. Weller seems as if he certainly COULD be that intense, but come on! That's TOO crazy!

Just think, not long after this, a certain executive started molesting Haim, as told by Feldman.
