Irv Manders is awesome

I love that character. He figured out that something is wrong with Andy and Charlie's story, but he still offers Andy a beer and is willing to hear him out. Then, just a minute or two later, he volunteers to stand by him and help defend Charlie, risking his own life, even though he just met them. What a guy. A great character.

You are toast, my toasty friend.

I liked him too.

One thing I didn't understand though: when the guys from the Shop drove up to his house, he said to Andy that he had some "tall apologizing to do."

What did he have to apologize for exactly? What did he do wrong?

reply

What he did wrong was to not believe Andy when first hearing their story. Irv even suggested that Andy turn himself in to the police. Especially for a person of Irv's generation, a man's word is his honor. To not believe someone is to call him dishonorable, so when he found out he was wrong, he owned up to it. Yet another reason Irv is awesome! :)

He was awesome and you'll never see a character like that in a movie today

Irv was a badass.

There was something so cool about Irv - he was awesome and you just knew that he and his wife would look after Charley
