Unintentionally Hilarious

When I was watching this film tonight I couldn't help but think of the scenes in Boogie Nights when Dirk and Reed were making the Brock Landers films. It really did seem like a bad porno movie without the hard core sex scenes. Every minute of Fear City is a bad cliche. It's so bad that it's hilariously funny.

I love the villain doing bad karate poses when he attacks the girls. I laughed out loud when he had a samurai sword sneak attack. The montage of the hero and the killer preparing for final battle by shadow boxing just killed me. Billy Dee Williams might have set a record for the most cliched lines delivered in a single film. The slow motion audio of Scalia and Berringer at the boxing match, comedy gold. "Whhhhhhyyyyy diiiiiiiddddnnnnnn'tttt yooooouuuu sssssttttoooopppp thhhheeee ffffiiiigggghhhhtttt??" So funny I had to rewind it and watch it again.

Fear City is unquestionably a terrible film. But I still had a good time watching it.
