Best scene in the movie brings shivers down the spine

I have watched this film about a dozen times and the scene where they agree to meet at the station and de niro is late, he thinks he has missed her then he sees her, they finally kiss and he touches her cheek and says i love you, i do. brings shivers down my spine.

Me too!
These two are amazing together - greatest living actor and actress
hope they make 'First Man'- lots of talk about it being scrapped
i would die to see these two share screen time together again

Same here...

Remember in 'Deer Hunter' how they cirkled around each other - De Niro and Streep - clumsy, shy and out of words in the supermarket and at the house... amazing and really - i guess - non comperable. Two of the greatest.

I totally agree. Deer Hunter and Falling In Love proved their acting prowess and undeniable acting chemistry on screen.

I hope they make their 4th movie, again as partners (the 3rd one being Marvin's Room but not as partners). =)

Agree, great scene . . . captures that feeling many of us wish we could bottle - and does it in a most realistic way.

For me it's the scene when she's racing to meet him at his house, driving like a maniac and she slams on the breaks in front of the train. (How ironic the train of all things is stopping her when the train was how they met and such an important part of the story, right?) You just feel how desperate she is to see him one more time, talk to him again. It kills me every time. She is sitting in the car coming back down to earth as the train passes and she knows it's too late. So sad and frustrating. That's the scene that always makes me want to cry...

OP...couldn't said it better myself! Saw this last week; hadn't ssen it in years and yet...that SCENE still got to me!

I agree! That's a wonderful scene...I particularly like the way the director had other people cross between them, as they finally approached one another.
And the way DeNiro pulls back a bit, and studies her face...really one of my favorite movies.
