Ann and Brian (the spouses)

Brian strikes me as a very sad character, you could tell he still loved his wife but lacked the ability to communicate with her. I felt bad for him.. Ann seemed stronger, she was obviously hurt by Franks actions, but seemed like a practical person who could pick up the pieces of her life and move on.. Ann seemed like she would be ok,, Brian not so much...

I thought it was a bad move for her to take the kids and leave for Denver for a few weeks, after he tells her he's fallen in love iwth someone else. To me, that was basically saying, "Let me get myself and the kids out of the way for a couple of weeks so you can spend time with your new love." Out of sight, out of mind.

I thought her move was spot-on. It's called self-preservation, and a big FU to your cheating husband, even if he was genuinely in love with Meryl, and the heart can't help it falls in love, I think it's a perfectly natural, immediate reaction for a wife and mother who is shocked, and very, very hurt by her philandering husband.
