folks , when I watch the movie ; I get the feeling that Meryl does not act. she is in love at the time of the shooting . With whom ? I don't know !

you could watch any other meryl streep movie and get the same feeling, like bridges of madison county. that's how good an actress she is.

Well, she did love John Cazale in the late 1970s and was with him until his death. May be she projected that with De Niro. I loved this film! Thanks, Amazon Prime!

Most adults have been in love at some point. So when an actor portrays someone in love, they call on that experience. Easy.

The hardest thing to do, I've heard, is comedy.

According to her bio, she and her current husband married in 1978. We know that she was with John Cazale for a couple of years until his death from cancer. If she comes across as really being in love in her movies...I think it's because she's that good an actress. But she's so very natural at the same time. You believe the part/person she's playing. IMO, her many awards prove that, too.
