Why is Tom Cruise not credited

I'm watching the movie right now and it is evident to me that one of the soldiers is Tom Cruise but a search on IMDB and other sources don't list him as being in the movie. Anyone know why?

I think the OP is confusing this movie with TAPS.

I don't remember Tom Cruise being in this film ?.I've seen TAPS though. Another great film with Tom and Sean !
