was the grandma a witch?

Just watched this again yesterday after a long time and noticed something new...the dead stoat the grandma owns..it comes to life when there is a threat around and hisses...also her head turning into a coconut at the end

Is this the return to Oz?
The grass is dead, the gold is brown
and the sky has claws.

I kept wondering if Granny was supposed THE witch in the story who got wronged by the traveling man husband & then bewitched all those witch twits. The actress playing that witch in the stories/flashbacks looked kinda like Angela Lansbury, after all. If so... then I guess Granny lost some of her power as she got older. :shrugs:

That was rather strange. I'm not really sure as to the thread question, but "Granny", just like the mother, did appear to have a decidedly edginess to her character.🐭

Plaster or porcelain, not a coconut... You can see "granny" as a doll with a porcelain head when Rosaleen is lying on her bed near the beginning of the movie.

The head shattering like plaster came as surprise, but since it was part of a dream it made perfect sense. It was a nice contrast to the gory wolf transformation.
