Visiting San Antonio and Cloak + Dagger locations.

Of course a C&D fan would want to stay at a Riverwalk hotel. But I have some questions:
-They seem to be in the $200 per night range, is that so?
-Which are the best ones?
-Is there a rat problem around the River Walk?
-What's the best time of year to visit?
