It plays out like '24' for kids.

I've always loved this movie, one of my favorites, but watching it recently I was struck by how similar to 24 it is, particularly in it's crisis that seems to last at least 24 hrs or more, a character named Jack and a hero who's caught up in it.

It's almost like Henry Thomas' character is Jack Bauer as a kid encountering his first mission lol. Of course his name is David so that doesn't work but it's fun to imagine lol.

I haven't seen "24", so I can't comment on the similarities. The IMDb entry for 24 shows dates of 2001-2014. Cloak & Dagger was released in 1984, and it's based either on a 1949 movie entitled []iThe Window[/i] or on the short story that movie was based on, "The Boy Cried Murder" (reprinted as "Fire Escape") by Cornell Woolrich.

I don't know if either of those stories took place in 24 hours.

If there's a similarity between 24 and Cloak & Dagger (1984), it's either coincidental or 24 is based on C&D.

I'd say it was sort of more like a Die Hard for kids if you ask me in a way.
