This should have been a morden day cop thriller, and it would have made a lot. I mean i'm a huge Clint And Burt fan and i found some of it lame. Clint and Burt could have made something special here, an Arnie and Sly team up. Hope they don't make the same bad choice.

This should have been a morden day cop thriller, and it would have made a lot.

It probably should have been made a bit earlier in their careers. Reynolds, although I think he is quite good in this film, was already well and truly on the downward slide as an "A" list star.

I think the depression era could have worked too, but the producers really needed to decide whether they wanted an action movie or more a genuine comedy - adventure. What we end up with is this weird hybrid of a film that seems to have satisfied very few people.
