Doesn't measure up

This is the first Clint Eastwood film that I didn't bother to watch straight through on video. It was a little boring compared to his other films. He seemed to be playing the role so straight as compared to his wise-cracking, glaring, sarcastic characters of other crime films. Oh, well, I'll try to finish it tonight!

A horrible film. It's all Pitt's, Primo's and Swift's without it ever explaining who is who and who and why they are doing things to each other. I still don't know why Roundtree's character was killed.

as I type this, I am watching it for the 1st time since 1989...for old-times sake I guess...I expected better from a film with both Clint & Burt

But there was always respect. I always knew where the line was drawn. And you just stepped over it, buddy-boy.

I think the main problem was that the producers couldn't decide whether they wanted a straight action film or a parody. They went the glass half-full way and predictably it never really worked out.

Burt was the wise-cracker to Clint's straight man, maybe that's why.
