I think this movie would be GREAT if you upped the budget and (slightly) redid the dialogue. Of course how many movies can you say that about? Probably all of them, but I think this one would be campy and fun, mainly because the story is plausible albeit strange. And it does follow in the same vein as Return of the Living Dead (Government outbreak of undead or f@cked up creatures, group of oblivious people, etc.) which I also believe should be remade.

This ain't nowhere near a zombie-like film, it's a
mutant film. C.H.U.D. II, that's another story.

Yeah hollywood seems to have gone crazy with remakes lately,chud was a really good movie,i havnt seen part2 but heard its awfull.

I'd like to see a sequel, but I don't want to see a remake. The original CHUD is a well acted and imaginative monster film. To this day, I take a side step around any manholes that cross my path.

Can we all stop giving Rob Zombie a free pass he is not that great of a filmmaker but I think it would be fun to see a remake.

I agree, Rob Zombie is horrible. Everything he's done is basically "Sleaze Horror". He even trashened up the Halloween name with his remake. If Zombie ever remade this, you could expect all the characters cursing in every other word they speak.

Though I recall hearing that Zombie passed on remaking this. So if it IS remade, I hope it falls into better hands. I don't wanna see Eli Roth remaking it either.

The only thing I'd want from a remake is that they keep or arrange Cooper Hughes(Martin Cooper and David Hughes, both from the New Wave group OMD)' C.H.U.D Theme that plays when Bosch's wife is abducted, and then during the ending credits. That song always gave me chills. It's a perfect synthy haunting melody from the 80s. That song just reminds me sooo much of the C.H.U.Ds. It's creepy like a C.H.U.D.

If Zombie were to ever remake CHUD, he would have it set in a really hick town in the 70's and it would be terrible.
