i am appalled by the lack of awareness of this movie- it is a perfect horror film! the setting is real gritty, you can almost smell the sewers, you can feel the tension as the chuds begin to surface more, and the soundtrack is just downright spooky!
i am shocked with how much pop culture references this simpsons, clerks II, etc.) but how little people know about it!
I love the movie, I gave it a 10/10. I blind bought the DVD last year and have loved it since. Right now at work I'm wearing a C.H.U.D. t-shirt that I got off of fright-rags.com.

It is a film that didn't get alot of attention when it first came out. I guess it got crowded out by all the slasher films that were being released by the dozen at the time. Now it is a cult classic.

I agree! I blind bought this last week at Circuit City for $6.99 and it was a great little 80's monster flick. The 4.7 rating on here needs to be bumped up for sure.
shareA lot of people hate the fact this doesnt have a bunch of action and gore. While I gree more gore would have been nice I loved the less is more approach they took. It genuinly made the C.H.U.D.S. more frightening. Not to mention the cast is great. The only major problem I have with it is that the ending sucked. I give it a 7/10
sharethere are two cuts of this movie. there is the good cut, and the tv cut. in the good cut, the diner scene happens around the time the shower scene happens. that is why the cops are all surrounding that diner. the ending is when the truck blows up, music plays, credits roll.
in the tv cut, the diner scene is inexplicably placed at the end, to make it seem like the CHUDs survived (while the diner is still bloodied and ruined). sequel baiting, i guess, even though the actual sequel was horrible and did not continue any story from the first.
