Francine Moran Hughes

When Francine was blaming herself for Mickey's inexcusable actions and mentioned that Mickey lost his job, I have to say that nothing gives Mickey the right to beat Francine.

reply

That what abused victims do blame themselves and that they feel guilty if their stupid no good husband or boyfriends beat to them to a pulp and abused victims also blame themselves if their husband or boyfriend lose a job.

And they also blame themselves thinking they didn't do anything right. Even if they did do something wrong or even if their husbands and/or boyfriends lost their jobs, that doesn't justify beating them to a pulp.

reply

They do that because that's how their parents raise them. Francine grew up in a time where if your husband beat on you, it *was* YOUR fault, because YOU weren't being a good enough wife, if you were doing your job and making him happy, he wouldn't HAVE to beat you every day. THAT'S the mentality they were raised with, and then people are surprised that they weren't quick to leave the first time things went south?

reply

Not being a good enough wife doesn't make it OK for your husband to treat you like that.

What can you expect though? This country goes from women are the bosses, they elect the tribe chiefs, THEY own the homes, THEY get divorced, the girls are encouraged to sleep with whoever they want, then the Puritans come over, set mankind and especially womankind back about 9000 years, and then for 400 years women are raised according to what the men dictated.

reply

It doesn't matter what Francine did. Mickey should not hit her.

reply

Yeah, he shouldn't have, but society for all the time he was growing up and probably his father and grandfather were growing up, society dictated that was alright if your wife wasn't being a good wife, that this was acceptable behavior on your part because YOU as the man were in charge. Was it right? No. But that's what the people in charge decided and why it carried on for so many years, because nobody was willing to stand up against it.

reply

Francine did nothing to make Mickey beat her.

reply

Nothing Francine did was her fault. Mickey shouldn't be putting his hands on her like that. All of those injuries he has inflicted on her don't belong there. She deserved much better than that. She did nothing to deserve this. Nothing!
