This movie made more at the box office than 'The Terminator' that same year

How's that even possible you ask??? I'll tell you. In 1984 Break dancing was HUGE!! And to do a movie on the subjrct @ the height of It's popularly, It's quite likely the Movie will do well. No one Knew or cared about no Got Damn Terminator in 1984. That movie got popular through word of mouth via video cassette. Does that make any sense?

Yea terminator grew from a cult classic to a phenomenon later. Dance movies were big in the 1980s.

The funniest part about this movie to me is how cool it was when it came out and how lame it is today. I usually like movies today if I liked it when I came out but this one is an exception, it's really really dumb today. Regardless I love the 80s break dancing nostalgia it has, it at least reminds me of being a kid in the 80s. Break dancing was so big people were doing it everywhere. I remember after lunch everyday in Jr High we'd all break dance in the hallway. It's no wonder it made so much money for it's budget and why they made a sequel. I got to say though movies like this, part 2, Beat Street, Rappin', Krush Groove etc etc were really quite lame though. It's cool they tried though.
