Intelligent film isn't action every second. You are probably a millennial.

It's not adapted from a comic book or loaded with CGI and explosions, so a certain segment will find it boring. Personally, I found it riveting.

i like boring movies but yes this was a chore at times.

Actually, when nothing seems to be happening between the characters, a lot is going on for those who are thinking about what they're seeing. That is the delicious part of this film. Watching the characters react to each other based on misunderstandings and wrong assumptions, further complicated by the lack of free communication about what they're attempting to talk about.

It may be that you aren't used to "cerebral" films that require a personal involvement with the characters, and that's not a criticism of you. If you expect everything to be spelled out or you as in a pure "action film", yes-- boredom may result. Another result is that the characters will seem "stupid" when they aren't exactly that. They're just a bit simple or naive in outlook and may do stupid things. They're just unaware of what is going on because they aren't suspicious people who are always looking out for people trying to deceive them.

OP must have this mixed up with some other movie. In "Blood Simple" there was something suspenseful going on every minute. Hell, every second!

I thought it was enjoyable and delivered a valuable life lesson.

When you assume you make an ass of u and me! And perhaps end up being murdered by a cold blooded private detective turned hit man.
