Blame It On The Night

Is this movie ( one of my favorites)available on DVD and is the very exceptional sound track available anywhere? Would like both very much. Jgostar

I would love that question answered for me, jgostar. I've loved the music in this movie for years. I would love a copy of the soundtrack so I could enjoy it all the time.

If it's useless information, chances are I already know it!

I still find myself humming tunes from this movie. Oh Grinnin Moon, the title song Blame It On The Night. I used to have this on VHS but it's long gone now. Mick Jagger wrote it, so maybe he has a fan club selling copies. I should look.

It is so great to find a couple people out there that love this movie and soundtrack as much as I do. If you ever find either I would be soooo happy!!

As of today, it still is not available on DVD. I too would do just about anything for a copy of the soundtrack. Sometimes I just put it in to listen to the songs. I find myself singing the title track "Blame it on the Night" as well as "Lost in the Night", and "Two by Two" often.

It's nice to know that there are others who love this movie too. I'd love to go to a Hollywood Collector's Show in Burbank if Nick Mancuso is scheduled to appear. It would be great to have him sign my VHS for the film.

Thanks for reading and have a great week! :)

Sony released a manufactured-on-demand DVD-R of this film last September.

Hello, Duke: I'm glad to hear this film is at least available for those who choose to seek it out. I wish those DVD-Rs were more affordable, though. I recall this film playing on HBO in the mid-'80s. I was fortunate enough to find it on VHS for 99 cents at a Goodwill store.

It's a decent father-son drama, a bit predictable but no less heartfelt. It sort of reminded me of Sylvester Stallone's "Over the Top," with music instead of arm-wrestling. I found the ending a bit of a surprise, though. The film features small roles by Billy Preston (R.I.P.), Merry Clayton and Mark Goodman as themselves. 7/10 stars from me for this curio for the time capsule.

I got the HD version via Instant Video from Amazon. You have to purchase, no streaming. It's been years since I saw it but it's held up pretty well.

Deep down, I'm pretty superficial.
