Oh, to sit in on a film producer's meeting in the 1980s

They were spitting out all kinds of crazy ideas, and nothing was off limits, the wackier the better. Sure this film is garbage, but at least it's original. These days it's one superhero film after another, and they don't even bother telling new stories, they just keep re-telling the old ones. E.T. would never be greenlit today, neither would Back to the Future, because they're not comic books.
