Arthur Baker - Breaker's Revenge

"Wherever You Go, There You Are." - Buckaroo Banzai

reply

Thanks but that is incorrect, Arthur Baker - Breaker's Revenge was played during the Battle at the Roxy Club which was 26 minutes 35 seconds into the movie, I am referring to the track that the The Fantastic Duo was Body Popping to at the The Roxy Club Audition which was a completely different scene, which was 1 hr 6 minutes and 36 seconds into the movie.

reply

Oops, sorry about that. Forgot that they had the little audition scene on the stage. That instrumental is an unknown tune since a score to the movie was never released. Brenda K. Starr's "Vicious Beat", Richard Sisco and Wanda Dee's rap song and Andy B. Bad's "Breakdown, Shakedown" were also never released, which really irritates me since my extended soundtrack of 36 songs will never be complete without them. There are also three other mystery songs in the movie as well, which I have mentioned in another topic thread here on the board.

If possible could you please provide a track listing of the tracks that are not available on the soundtracks volume 1 or 2 that you have.

Thanks and regards

When Double K is mixing in the abandonded building and when Double K is mixing at the Burning Spear awaiting Monte NOT the Santa's rap scene, do those mixes actually exist somewhere or where they solely invented for the film? If the mixes do NOT exist, could you list the songs in the order they were played. Also, if possible, state in which scene the song was played. For ex.

ABANDONED BLDG.

BURNING SPEAR (non-Santa's rap scenes)

I remember those songs as a little kid. I was fortunate enough that a forum member sent most of them to me but I am missing some especially when the Bronx Rockers enter into the abandoned building and the music switches as they break, the conflict ensues and the Marine guy bites into the can and rips a piece and chews it.

That would be a lot of work to put scene locations for all the songs I listed. If you have the movie, which I highly recommend, all of the tunes I showed are in play order as heard in the movie. From beginning to end. As for the audition instrumentals, they are not available (at least to my knowledge). If they were, I would love to own them.

I'm not asking for scene locations just the songs played while Double KK was deejaying at the abandoned building and at the Burning Spear while he was awaiting Monte from the Roxy. Are those mixes available or was it solely produced for the film?

reply

There songs played at the block party in the film's beginning are:

03-Guy Davis and Jazzy Jay - Scratch Beat
04-Africa Bambaata And The Soul Sonic Force - Looking For The Perfect Beat
05-G.L.O.B.E. + Whiz Kid - Play That Beat Mr. DJ
06-Freeez - Pop Goes My Love
07-Freeez - I.O.U
08-Sharon Green, Lisa Counts and Debbie D - Us Girls
09-Africa Bambaata And The Soul Sonic Force - Renegades Chant

The songs played at the Roxy auditions are:

23-Tina B - Nothin's Gonna Come Easy
24-The System - Baptize The Beat
25-Missing Song 3 (Brenda K. Starr's "Vicious Beat")
26-Richard Sisco and Wanda Dee - Strong, Bold and Demanded (Excerpt. Need full version)
27-Andy B. Bad - Shake Down, Break Down (Excerpt. Need full version)

Any instrumental breakbeats have not been released. Same for the excerpted songs above.

ThanX buddy- I have all those songs at the block party except:

03-Guy Davis and Jazzy Jay - Scratch Beat
09-Africa Bambaata And The Soul Sonic Force - Renegades Chant

At the Roxy Audition I would like Tina B's song-

If you have any of these could you send them to me. :-)

Just one more request. The songs played while Double KK was djaying at the Burning Spear awaiting the arrival of Monte, manager of the Roxy.

reply

So the instrumental breakbeats have not been released. How interesting! For ex. when the opposing breakin crew enters the block party and the music changes to accomodate their breaking, just before they are told they are "biting" their moves, that music is not available? Are you able to get that separated though?

reply

The block party songs are easy to get since they are all full songs and, as shown in a previous entry here, I have them in play order as heard during the scenes. Other instrumental only tracks scattered throughout the film, with the exception of Arthur Baker's "Breaker's Revenge" were clearly done for the movie and are sadly not available for purchase or download. My Track 21, Harry Belafonte - Condo Condo is an edited movie rip that came out great. So it was not officially released either. Same for "Bernard Fowler and the Mariner's Baptist Church Choir (Live)". Another movie rip since it wasn't released. This is a film that truly needed a four LP soundtrack release back at the time, not just two records, which only cover a quarter of the songs.

I wish Double KK's mixes were available in their entirety because "they were the baddest." I am not sure what you mean by instrumental. Could you please provide an example preferably from the block party? Also, are you able to pull the instrumentals from the movie? That would be nice.

reply

An instrumental is just that, a song with only instruments or keyboards, no vocals. And no, I can not rip those songs from the movie.
