Creepy music leads to curious atmosphere

I can't believe no one has commented on here yet! This has got to be one of Resnais' best later films, a fantasy that leads to philosophical debates on death, suicide, and love. The music is terrifying, and the random shots of falling snow get creepier as the film goes on. The use of sound (or lack of dialogue) and the cast limit of mainly four actors, makes this feel, at times, similar to Bergman's work. After being a little disappointed in "Life is a Bed of Roses", I was completely blown away by this film. I wonder if Lars von trier watched this before making "Antichrist". The films at least share a similar atmosphere.
