Favorite scene

What's your favorite scene?

Mine is when Mozart and Salieri are working together on the Mass Requiem. The fact Tom Hulce wasn't even nominated for that scene is a crime. :)

Who says he wasn't nominated? He was, for Best Actor in a Leading Role, only he lost to F. Murray Abraham. For once, Salieri bested Mozart at something...

Same scene for me.

don't know if this is my most favorite scene, but it's definitely one of them:
the look of shock that registers on Salieri's face as he realizes who the crude young man speaking backward phrases is. F. Murray is amazing.

Yeah, the acting that F Murray does with just his face makes it the best performance I've ever seen. So saying this, my favourite is the whole bit from the time he looks up to his crucifix and says 'Grazie senor' and meaning it, to when he looks up again and says it in a more in a sarcastic tone. Amazing.

The Don Giovanni sequence for me. The way F. Murray Abraham says, "I saw to it that Don Giovanni was played only five times in Vienna... but in secret, I went to every one of those five." actually brought tears to my eyes. Possibly the best performance in any motion picture ever.

The look of ecstasy and rapture on Salieri's face as he reads the transcript of examples of Mozart's work (Concerto for Flute and Harp I think).
