One of the best TV-movie pilots?

In the category of best TV-movie pilots (on a standalone-basis, regardless of how good/bad the TV series turned out to be), "Airwolf" (1984) ranks among my favorites.

A movie with a new premise, great aerial action within the opening minutes, an introduction to two movie stars (Jan Michael Vincent & Ernest Borgnine) returning to the small screen, and an ending consistent with the TV show's "dark" first season.

What are some of your other favorite TV-movie pilots?

Airwolf is one of my favorite TV-movie pilots, too. Very well-made. In terms of that kind of quality, the only other one that really comes to mind is the pilot for Miami Vice.

It feels more like a feature film rather than a TV movie. I can't believe this was made in the 80s! It must have been really fun and expensive to make.
