Keir Dullea

One of the things I like about 2010 is the progression of Keir Dullea’s character. Kubrick’s film didn’t allow for much humanity to shine through, but the sequel has Bowman, or whatever he is at this point, projecting a true warmth. Some of it is the script, some is the direction, but I think most of the credit goes to Dullea. He has a natural warmth and ease, and watching and listening to him tell us something wonderful is going to happen is, well, wonderful. His part is small, but important.
