I've always been a huge fan of the book and to me the actor's voices are absolutely perfect for each character in the main 90 minute TV film especially Michael Hordern as Badger and David Jason's childish and bragging Toad.Other productions always leave me somewhat unsatisfied.
shareI agree, and think it's the most satisfying adaptation. I can see how others may fall a bit flat after having seen this series. I do love the Disney version and the Rankin/Bass cartoon...and there have been a couple of other fair ones...but this really is the most fulfilling and perfect. Not to mention how visually stunning it is, too! :O Those sets, those puppets, that animation! Bravo!! Voices, humor, writing, stories, and characterization are just right, and really get one into it. I love the scenery, and the theme song sets the ideal mood...
