The episode with Ray Charles

I don't remember too many of the specifics about this episode... Ray Charles was in it and he was doing a song that for some reason, Samantha didn't like... and she was crying when she agreed to let Ray do the song and he was playing it.

Does anyone else remember this episode or did I dream it up? I doubt I dreamt it because I couldn't make Alyssa Milano act that well.

I haven't seen this ep in a while but I do remember it...

Samantha was dating or thinking of dating some kid. That kid was over when Ray Charles was over and talked to him about taping or writing a song for Samantha. He agrees and tapes it and then kid gives it to Sam

Sam talks to Angela about the boy and Angela says "Of course you can talk to me - -we are sisters!!" (or some touchey-feeley crap like that). Later on Sam is pissed off at the boy and takes it out on Jonathan calling him a twerp or a creep. Angela is present for this and discpines Sam telling her to go to her room. Sam argues with her saying that "Your're npt my mother..." and in comes Tony who gets involved. Sam says "Angela told ME to go to MY room!" (I will never forget this!) and Tony says "Then go to your room!!!!" Just before Samantha leaves in a huff she says "You said we were sisters! We're not sisters -- we're not even friends" She leaves and I will never forget the look on Tony's face to Angela -- he is mad at Angela for how his brat of a kid is behaving!!

Later on somehow Samantha finds out that kid is with another girl (or at least found out with another girl) and freaks out and destroys the tape. Ray charles shows up and plays the taped song on the piano and sings -- causing Sam to cry and run and hug Angela, saying "I'm sorry..." (the dumbfounded look on Ray Charles' face is priceless.)

Not the average episode that you see only once or twice and it always sticks with you, is it?

Does anyone know where I can see this? It isn't on youtube.

"It is a bad plan if includes the phrase 'then inspire an uprising of the people'."

You left out the part that even Ray Charles sees that Jonathon is gay.

Muscle Queen, I am literally LOL'ing.

I remember this episode like it was yesterday, Jonathan starts singing, "Always a Friend..." and that's when Sam freaks out and tells him to shut his face.

"Chad McCann", how '80s. What a little ginger douche.

I know right and what I like about this episode is that if Chad McCann never cheated on Sam, she and Hank Thomopolous never would have gotten together.

I remember the song by Ray Charles was awesome. Does anyone know what it was?

"You mess with Mozart, you get a bullet in your head courtesy of Butch Cassidy"

Which song are you talking about? There two he sung. Always a Friend and Hallelujah I Love Her So.

HIT THE ROAD CHAD. That was the name of the episode.

Frank Sinatra made a guest appearance in a 1989 episode.

Samantha's boyfriend Chad had written her a song, Angela convinced Ray Charles to record it, in the meantime Sam caught Chad cheating on her and they broke up so she didn't want to hear the song again and got into a big fight with Angela. When Ray comes to the house to play the piano and sing the song Sam apologizes to Angela and tells her to use the song in the ad that she had wanted to use it in. The title of the episode is "Hit the Road Chad"
