Am I the only guy who thinks Angela was ugly? I ain't gay or anything, but Tony is a good looking guy. What does he see in Angela?

I always thought Judith Light was a very attractive and talented actress......she has done live theater and been on Broadway which is a tribute to her acting.........only the best of the best perform there............

shareI tend to agree with the OP that Tony is a much better looking man than Angela is a beautiful woman. However, that's the point. The entire premise of the show (especially with regard to Tony & Angela's relationship) is about what appears on the surface to be one thing can actually turn out to be another.
At the beginning of the series, they appear to be total opposites: Tony is handsome & Brooklyn street smart, but sorely lacking in the social graces, worldliness, & education. Angela is a former overweight nerd and very self-conscious about her looks. However she is intelligent, determined, educated, and has lived a cosmopolitan life splitting her time between Manhattan & Connecticut.
Over the years, each learns from the other: Angela learns that, beneath his devil-may-care macho bravado, Tony is a deeply caring & bright parent with a heart of gold who wants to improve his & Sam's life through education. He learns that, beneath Angela's cold, "career woman" demeanor, she is actually open to passion, spontaneity, and wants to open up her son's life to a some of Tony's "street smarts".
They both learn to look beyond their pre-determined ideas about each other. I personally think it's a good lesson.
Angela was very well put together but I wouldn't say she has the greatest features and ohh i love tony <333 LOL
shareI think that Tony and Angela are perfect together. A very attractive couple in my book. and, i do believe, that in real life, the two actors did share an attraction for one another. they have great chemistry!

Granted Angela isn't supermodel hot but she's still attractive and she and Tony did have a deeper more profound attraction which was why they were so good for each other.

I didn't think Angela was ugly. Her glasses, the ones in the beginning of the show. They were awful. Too overwhelming for her face. Also they were always on the tip of her nose.

God I loved Judith. For some reason I thought she was the most gorgeous woman on the planet. I mean since then I realise there are a few more truly beautiful women out there :p But I definitely think Judith is one of them. And the true measure of beauty is how long you can naturally keep it. She's still got it. Amen.

she is not classically good looking but has a certain sexual attractivness that i think really appeals to men. her body does not have the most curves but she has a great pair of legs and knows how to accentuate what she has. as said before the 80's clothing style and hair really did not suit her at all. i think she looked her best on WTB the first season and the last. the in between years could have been better. overall though i loved tony's relationship with angela immensley. great chemistry.
Oh I think she's very pretty. I see what he sees in her. She's a strong, independant woman, yet she is kind of insecure too.

Well that is what the writers wanted was Tony to fall for Angela and not Mona. If they wanted him to fall for Mona then they would have written it that way.

I look more like my mother than my father(as people always say), but I'm a bit like "Angela", though. I did not inherit my mother's big breasts(sigh), but i certainly got my butt from my fathers side of the family(they have big bums and hips/thighs), but I'm not that tall like my parents, i'm a bit shorter like some of my aunties.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say that mattered. I was just trying to prove a point that you don't always look the way your parents do. Look at Mariska Hargitay and her mother, Jayne Mansfield. Totally different looks! That's all I was pointing out. I definitely agree that it pretty much boils down to what your like on the "inside". That's all I was saying. It's just "genetics".

Yeah, well Mona's mother, Angela's grandmother was quite tall and thin like her with no boobs and like a very plain looking face. Maybe she took after her grandmothers looks. I didn't think Mona was hot, cute but not hot, she did have a pretty good body for an old lady. im a straight chick, but i embrace it if i see a chick thats real good looking, i wont deny it just cos im straight, i'll admit shes good looking and hope i am too. Yes you do prove a very good point about that because it could have been all genetics that caused Angela to look the way she is. I think I saw the actress who played Mona on like a Oprah show a long time ago because it was interesting they had a lot of great actresses that were on there that looked good for their age including some that is no longer around anymore and I miss some of them too because they were great actresses that appeared in a lot of shows that I grew up watching. Angela was an attractive woman and more than likely if I was close to Mona's age or her age I would more than likely think she was hot. LOL I am not her age though and glad that I am still young. Mona was cute in her own way but I never had any crush on her though. I am 36 years old and when Who's The Boss came out in 1984 I was only 12 years old at that time and yes I had a crush on Alyssa Melano but I did not like it it when she got older that she got tattoo's though.
I like my women who are clean and do not have piercings everywhere and tattoo's that do not look that feminine you know. I can handle a small dainty tattoo but if it is where there are too many I am not that crazy about it though.

Well, at the time of who is the boss, i was a tennagge and i was on crush with Mona. Angela didnt have the good looking at all, alissa mylano wasnt too atractive for me, but Mona was the sexpot, in spite of her age. She was cute, good looking, hot , sexy and funny and intelligent and witty. Plus, she had an amazing body, and she was redhead and with great boobs. She was a pleasure to see. Plus, i was in love with Katherine Helmond since the soap times. I think that Mona was both, cute and hot.
But yes, Angela got the looks of her grandmoter totally, because she is so different of mona. I guess that Alissa Mylano got some of Mona's sexyness more than Angela.

Elizabeth Donnelly, the character JL plays on SVU, is supposed to be portrayed as an uncompromising feminist judge, and her appearance reflects that of each character she plays. Claire Meade is the socialite wife of a publishing mogul, and is expected to reflect the glamorousness "Mode" represents. Angela Bower was a gifted Ad Exec, whose appearance evolved as she became less 'inflexible' and her relationship w/ Tony slowly bloomed into romance. Ms. Light allows herself to shine in each character she plays. Whether it is executive, socialite, or no-nonsense judge, she always looks and acts the part. Case closed!!!
I always thought Angela was beautiful, and clothes looked great on her. Always admired her character, when I was a little girl.
