Unlike the V Mini-Series, in widescreen on Blu-ray, WHY is the Final Battle only in 4:3 on Blu-ray?

There's no reason for it, even the DVDs were consistent with the widescreen for both shows, but why curtail the climax of the series for square TVs?

I haven't bought the Blu-ray version, I saw the technical details on Blu-ray.com.

And yes, the DVDs are all widescreen for both series. I've had those for ages.
