So does that mean they leave one ship behind and sacrifice its crew if they are to use the bomb?
That would be my interpretation, yes. I'm not sure bout sacrificing the crew... they'd probably escape in the fighters and rendezvous with other motherships if they had any brains. But yeah, you read it right. We all know a nuclear explosion that high up would only be a small burp in space... antimatter, do you think? that much mass converted into antimatter would at least in the SF community wipe out he Earth, Moon and a couple of asteroids...
