New DVD of complete series out Tuesday...

So I do rememeber this show vaguely from reruns in the 90s most likely on sci-fi.

The other year I got a vhs tape with 5 eps on it, the first vol with Word processor of the gods, Seasons Of Belief, Everybody Needs A Little Love, Do Not Open This Box, and Distant Signals.

I just rewatched the eps and I like most of them, I love how this has that twilight zone feel mixed with the 80s.

So anyways I looked online and it seems like a new dvd of the complete series is coming out tuesday and is $30 or less at some places. SO I am thinking of picking this up.

I picked this up and find the quality extremely disappointing. It is clearly not DVD quality standards. None of the film or audio have been cleaned up, and seems to just be of a collection of bootlegged episodes ported onto discs.

Got the complete series set at wal-mart for $30, even though I already own the first Season, but $30 for the other three was more than worth it.

I just picked mine up and also noticed Twilight Zone complete set available as well. That one is next!

I just bought the set on Amazon for $22.49, which is a great price for 90 episodes. BUT... as other posters noted here, the picture quality is very disappointing. I watched these first run back in the '80s and these DVDs look exactly as they did on my even then old TV set. At best, these are VHS quality. That said, I'm glad to have them all. There are many episodes here I'm sure I missed the first time around.

My set arrived today--Halloween! I watched the pilot "Trick or Treat" and the second season "Halloween Candy." What better way to celebrate the day than with a couple classic DARKSIDE episodes??

TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE appears to be a sister set to FRIDAY THE 13th: THE SERIES, which was an excellent hour-long Canadian series any fan of DARKSIDE is sure to enjoy.

I never rented or watched them, but I know that the first DVD release a few years ago had music changes to most episodes. Does this new release restore all those changes, or is it just the same altered episodes repackaged?

Mine arrived today. Look, they're most likely not going to remaster this show. They may do it for Netflix or Hulu one day, but not on home media.
