Was Kimberly McArthur fired from the show?

I suspect she was fired, and here's why; typically, actors are hired on a 3 year contract, but something like every 26 weeks, the producers can terminate the contract; actors, however, are bound for the entire 3 years. It's a very unfair system for the actors on daytime, but it's perfect for the soaps, who can basically fire and hire actors at the drop of a hat. Since Kimberly McArthur was only on the show for less than a year, it's easy to assume she was fired. Speaking as a viewer of the show at that time, I can say she resembled Robin Wright, and wasn't a bad actress, but I just didn't totally accept her in the role. The show probably would have benefited from having the character of Kelly leave for a few weeks and then come back with McArthur playing her.
