In support of Nancy Lee Grahn. (Copied from my GH post)

It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with what she said or how she said it. The point is that this is still FREEDOM OF SPEECH and unfortunately, social media is a free enterprise for people even LESS intelligent than her to rant about stupid crap. Nancy is a very intelligent woman who made a mistake, tried to atone, and got even more flack for that than her original rant. I have adored her as an actress ever since her long stint on "Santa Barbara" where Julia and Mason were a far sexier couple than Cruz and Eden (esp. with Mason played by Lane Davies), and over the years on "GH", there have been quiet salutes to "SB" with Jed Allan playing Edward (excellent actor, miscast on GH obviously, but a wonderful C.C. Capwell), Lane Davies, Robin Mattson (had a great scene with Nancy where Heather was told that Edward had a restraining order placed against her), A. Martinez, and on "Port Charles", her "SB" sister, Louise Sorel.

Have there ever been two a actors cast together as siblings that really LOOKED like siblings than Nancy and Louise?
I'll never forget a tearful scene between them in 1986 when Louise, as Augusta Lockridge, was leaving town, and Nancy, as Julia, expressed how she felt betrayed. The 50th anniversary salute to soaps included a scene of Nancy when she was on "One Life to Live" opposite Gerald Anthony (Marco), playing Beverly Wilkes, and included a blooper. It is ironic, too, that they had Nancy in drag at one point, just as her "SB" mother-in-law Sophia Capwell had done at one point, and the look-alike drag character Louise had done on "Days" as Vivian.

So I think that even though her rant was maybe not well thought out, she does have enough clout to speak her mind, and while I may not agree with all her points or how she handled it, I do support her as an American with the freedom to speak freely how she chooses, and hope the powers at GH see her as a valued performer. I wish that at GH they would make Alexis and Anna friends, because I see them as two very strong women with a rare intelligence of the female characters on that show. I just wish that somebody in casting would come up with a Cassadine role for Louise Sorel. (Stretching the age a bit, but Alexis's mother being revealed to really be alive would be a great plot twist....)

Nancy and Lane playing Julia and Mason were probably my favorite soap couple ever!! I've never been a fan of the "super couples" as deemed by the writers of all theses shows. Whether it be Cruz/Eden, Luke/Laura, Bo/Hope...I always prefer the quirky couple. I'm probably partial though...Lane's Mason was probably my favorite soap character ever.

Freedom of Speech doesn't give you protection from repercussions. If you say something stupid or offensive, then you run the risk of suffering professionally.
